The city of Belfast is surrounded by hills. During the Industrial Revolution, people moved to Belfast to work in shipyards and linen mills and the tobacco and weaving industries. The city has a statue in memory of the victims of the Titanic passenger liner, which was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Today, Belfast has a population of just under half a million people. |
